Body

Minneapolis-based Composer JG Everest brings his immersive, outdoor "Sugarbush Sound Garden" sound installation to Wild River State Park for a special outdoor "Concert You Can Move Through" as part of Wild River's annual Sugarbush event, tapping sugar maple trees and cooking down the sap to make Maple Syrup. Free and Family-Friendly, there will be hands-on chances to learn more about Maple Syrup production and the many traditions and meaning around this annual celebration. JG Everest is a current MNPAIR Artist-in-Residence at Wild River State Park, and is offering a series of free interactive programs throughout the year, onsite at the park. The Sugarbush Sound Garden is a "spatial symphony" played through 30 small speakers, each playing a different part of the whole piece of music, spread out throughout the outdoor wooded space near the Visitor Center at Wild River. It is self-guided and will feature live musical accompaniment by roving members of the Free Range Orchestra and live storytelling around the bonfire.
