Nikki Schneider

My inspirations come from my everyday experiences. From my childhood in Nebraska searching out images in the clouds, or as an adult when my son shows me his newest lego creation. My work is about finding beauty or potential oddness in the ordinary. I fall in love with the block or plate while making it and the patterns fill my dreams. I am interested in the layering of woodcut and silkscreen images. The exploration of how far I can push an image spurs my work on in the printshop. Now I am working on a series of Intaglio pieces that explore the “glitched” mechanical line extending from organic animal figures.
