IMAGE Art Show Opens April 27, 2019
The IMAGE Art Show will be held April 27th through May 4th, with an opening reception on Saturday, April 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A welcoming ceremony and the judges’ presentations are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. The Show will be held at the East Central Regional Arts Council office located in downtown Braham, MN. A total of 164 artists from all over the 5 county region have entered the show.
IMAGE will also be open on Sunday, April 28th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday – Friday, April 29th – May 3rd, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and Saturday May 4th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The show is open to the public and is free of charge.
This is the 32nd year of IMAGE, an annual judged art show for visual artists residing in Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine Counties (Region 7E). Sponsored by the East Central Regional Arts Council (ECRAC), IMAGE is a celebration of artists living and creating in Region 7E.
This year’s IMAGE awards are: 2 Judge’s Choice Awards ($500 each); up to 10 Excellence Awards ($200 each); and up to 10 Merit Awards ($150 each). In addition, artwork entered will be eligible for People’s Choice ($300) and Purchase Awards. These awards (with the exception of People’s Choice) will be presented at the opening reception on April 27. The People’s Choice Award will then be distributed after the show ends. Everyone attending the show is allowed to vote for their favorite piece artwork with the People’s Choice ballot.
